HAMILTON
SHEEPVENTION
4 & 5 August 2008
Sheepvention is the ideal place to source the
latest information on everything from genetics, forestry,
cropping, machinery, motor vehicles, caravans, education,
computers and the list goes on.
Add to that you have a huge range of clothing, work wear and
food outlets keen to showcase their wares.
Record Crowds
More than 25,000 people poured through the gates in 2007,
to enjoy the fashion, entertainment, information, education,
food and wine that Sheepvention had to offer.
Ram Sales
The unique selling system for the Sheepvention Pen of 5 Rams
was designed to meet the needs of the commercial producer.
This selling system has proved immensely popular with both
the buyer and the vendor.
The vendor is able to present an even line of Rams, so that
buyers can purchase from one to all five rams, depending on
their requirements.
Both vendors and buyers attend from all over Australia including
those who make the trek from Western Australia, and a very
strong and faithful contingent from New South Wales.

SHEEP
The feature breed for the 2008 Hamilton and
Western District Sheep Show run in conjunction with Sheepvention
is the Texel.
The Sheep Show reflects the diversity and history of sheep
breeding in Australia, with representations from the so-called
heritage breeds such as the Lincoln and English Leicesters,
the prime lamb breeds, dual purpose breeds and the wool breeds.
The Merino section augments the strong representation of
the merino breed throughout the Sheepvention site - the Sheep
Show, the Ram Sale and individual stud trade displays.
INVENTIONS
The Sheep and Wool Handling Inventions Show.
This is a major competition designed to stimulate the invention,
manufacture and display of new equipment that will be of benefit
to the Sheep and Wool Industry. |

FASHION
The Wool fashion parade is a professionally staged fashion
show with ten top models, produced and presented by Lucy Kiraly
of the Fashion Team.
The Wool Fashion Parade is a key feature of Sheepvention.
It is an eagerly anticipated event and one of Sheepvention's
most popular attractions - with over 550 people attending
each of the four parades held each day. In addition, a special
preview parade, held on the Sunday night before Sheepvention,
is well attended by the Hamilton public, members of the committee
and is a valuable promotional opportunity.
TRADE
Exhibitors old and new enjoy the strong crowds that turn
the Hamilton Showgrounds into a hive of activity over the
Monday and Tuesday of Sheepvention.
And
with more than 500 exhibitors, ranging from agricultural products
and consultant services, cooking utensils, garden wares, fashion,
jewelry, craft, food, and wine, there was definitely something
for everyone.
